Can you hold my date for me while I decide? What is required to reserve the date?
Many weekend dates in peak season book over a year in advance. To be fair to everyone, dates are "first come, first serve" and cannot be held. We have two teams of photographers, so there is a possibility that we have open dates for your event if it is sooner. To reserve your date, a signed contract and a retainer of 50% is required.
How long will you be at our Wedding?
Coverage usually begins when the bride completes her hair and makeup, and we finish after the last song. We offer time packages as well. A second photographer is included in all but one of our collections.
How many images will I receive on my digital negatives disc with photo copyright release?
There is no limit to the number of photographs taken on your wedding day. Our objective is to be fully in the moment as we photograph your magnificent day as it unfolds. We are very sensitive to removing moments from your day, so only those images that are multiple shots, test shots, etc. are removed. This ensures that you receive the best of the best!
What is a photo copyright release?
All of the high resolution digital negatives come with a photo copyright release, which serves as a "permission slip" to give any lab to have your own prints made. You may order them from wherever you like, in any size, shape, or form. You may find that the color accuracy and quality of prints from some of the "self-serve" labs is less than desirable. However, we completely understand that, for most, our studio fine art portrait prices are not economical for those desiring to print hundreds of proofs. For portraits that will be displayed in your home or given as gifts, we do recommend taking the splurge and ordering them from our lab. Not only will they be color accurate and printed on high quality, luxurious professional photogaph paper, but we also do additional retouching to every image ordered to be sure it is a beautiful masterpiece to be proudly displayed.
What kind of albums do you offer?
We offer a range of albums as well as many creative and artistic options. The album that is included with most collections is a 12x15" custom Italian leather bound album with 60 musuem quality, archival pages.
Do you outsource any of your editing or will my photographers be the ones editing my images? What about my album design?
The outsourcing of image editing to out-of-state independant contractors is a common process used by many studios. All of the editing is performed here in our studio by Gary. He uses his own software to go from mild to wild. We also offer complete integration of our exclusive "soft editing software". This sort of editing softens age lines and many imperfections. The type of imagery you will see in the the high fashion editorial world. All of our timeless beautiful album designs are created by Natasha.
Do you travel to shoot weddings?
Absolutely! As destination wedding photographers, we love to travel and photograph weddings all over the world. Please inquire for our destination wedding pricing. We can't wait to hear more!
What type of equipment do you use?
We shoot Pro Digital. We are part of Canon's Professional Team and we use a myriad of Canon professional equipment, as well as Leica and Hasselblad. We also use special lighting equipment at every event to ensure we don't miss those special moments.
Should we provide you with a list of images we want photographed?
That is really up to you. We have been shooting weddings for over 10 years, so it is not necessary. We do perform the post-ceremony formal, traditionally posed family shots, as well as artisically posed bridal party and romantic bride & groom shots. For the rest of the day, we use a photojournalistic approach, focusing on unplanned, spontaneous moments of love, laughter, and tears of joy. Some brides, understandably so, feel more comfortable knowing that we have "the list", so we have gone state-of-the-art and created an App for that! We love saying that! Feel free to check it out, as it gives our brides the ability to save and send us images that they must have and get ideas for more images. You can read all about it by following this link: www.weddingphotoplanner.com. It is available for purchase in the ITunes store.
How involved should the photographers be in the creation of my timeline?
It is very important that we be consulted with, before setting your ceremony start time and timeline. Sunlight plays a big factor in creating beautiful images, so we are happy to consult with and assist in timing your day, so that we don't miss out on the best lighting for your outdoor photographs! We also offer recommendations on how much time will be needed to complete your post-ceremony formals, as requested.
